Border Guard officers are killed in a bomb attack in the Bieszczady Mountains. Only one of them survives. Many people are determined to discover the truth.
The Pack is a story about border guards in the Bieszczady but also about a place which determines specific attitudes and behaviours. The story starts with a bomb attack which kills officers from a Border Guard unit deployed in the Bieszczady Mountains. Only one of them survives. Captain Rebrow (Leszek Lichota) loses his friends and his beloved Ewa in the attack. Feeling confused, he tries to get at the bottom of the assault and find out who is the mastermind behind the bombing. His commanders are also determined to reveal the truth. The official investigation is led by the prosecutor's office. (official distributor synopsis)

English Wataha starts off as an intense, bleak, and somewhat confusing drama set against the stunning backdrop of Poland's national parks, right on the border with Ukraine and Slovakia. Thankfully, with only six episodes per season, it's manageable. The second and third seasons really hit their stride, though. While the characters remain pretty unlikable and grating, the storyline focusing on local immigration issues becomes genuinely engaging. I'd give the first season two stars, but the later seasons earn a solid four — averaging out to a strong three stars overall. ()
