Monster High: Haunted is a 2015 chilrden's and young adult's Monster High spin off where Spectra Vondergeist gets trapped in a Ghost World, needing her friends to come save her. Lurk what's waiting for the Monster High ghouls when they bring their killer fashion to the howlways of the spooktacular Haunted High! When the ghouls of Monster High follow Spectra Vondergeist one day, they discover a creeperiffic Ghost World with an all-spirit school. But their scary-cute student bodies are hardly welcome with the very strict Principal Revenant, and she punishes Spectra with frightful detention chains that prevent her from re-joining Monster High. I'm not the target audience, and honestly, I'm not even sure who the target audience is, but I assume girls. I feel a bit sorry for them, receiving such rushed productions on TV, where the clichés in the story and the hurried animation are painfully obvious. But this is about the characters and maybe someone will relate to them. I don't have such a relationship with it, though.

The 11th Monster High film focuses on the Vondergeist Spectre, with plenty of space for Rochelle Goyle and a good Operetta line in places... Overall, we learn more about another parallel world that exists alongside MH. Of the new characters, I liked River Styxx the best. The monstrous ghost world is based on the principle of pirate adventures and the Dickensian concept of ghosts of the past, present, and future. Which is a good idea.
