In the end, Dahmer is quite an ordinary story that tries to play up its based-on-true-events angle. Still, the film managed to be forgotten quite successfully. Which is not surprising at all. The film has good acting, it's believable, but it's just weak. The man was a monster. If nothing else, they could have focused on how society received him, the trial, and then how it ended in him being killed by a fellow inmate. Many moments in his life could have been seized upon, but Jacobson simply approached it provincially.
