English Compared to the rather shoddy London Has Fallen, this movie does at least have a better script, so it's not a complete waste of time to watch it. For instance, the scenes concerning the drone attack on the American president and his bodyguards are quite impressive, but otherwise, in my opinion, this is pretty mediocre. (50%) ()

English The talented Ric Roman Waugh has done some decent prison stuff and now he serves up the best installment of the trilogy, which frankly shocked me because the trailers didn’t have me expecting much. It's very much in the vein of The Fugitive with Gerard Butler going against everybody. The film is an intense ride from start to finish with perfect music, pumping action, a decent bad guy, unexpected twists and turns and a pretty pissed off Butler (the drone scene a awesome), and Nick Nolte is great with his forest traps. A very nice surprise, I unexpectedly enjoyed this one and will award the film the B-movie of the year award at the end of the year. 85%. ()

English There’s been a lot that has fallen around Mike Banning, so I wasn't surprised that, eventually, he himself wasn’t an exception. Gerard Butler isn’t getting any younger, just like the rest of us, so the presidential bodyguard he portrays begins to suffer from the pains of aging, too. On the other hand, I have to admit that the protagonist fought his ailments just like he fought his opponents, and, in the end, he beat arthritis on points. Angel Has Fallen is not an amazing film, it’s quite predictable, and I wasn’t all that impressed by it, but it wasn’t boring, which is the point. ()

English You only need to watch the first ten minutes to know how everything will turn out. It's only a question of how many bad guys Butler will slaughter and whether one or more buildings will explode. I commend the refreshing addition of Nick Nolte as a long-estranged father, and some good moments and good action ideas – especially the opening scene on the river and the last fight, which ironically was probably the most believable and also very short. It's incredible how the demolition of the hospital looks super-realistic and loads of other scenes are terribly dodgy. For one viewing for fans of the franchise, or action movies, it's probably OK, but please don't add any more sequels. ()

English I appreciate a good B-movie action film from time to time, but as they say... everything has its limits. While I do enjoy Gerard Butler in these roles, his occasional over-the-top acting drove me to the brink of madness in many scenes. The story relies once again on the same old plotline, and although the twists try to convince the audience of the film's ingenuity, you'll ultimately feel like you've seen it all before and that nothing really surprises you. In terms of acting, the film doesn’t offer much (except for the excellent Nolte, whose few minutes on screen I would personally call the best aspect of the film). So, the only remaining lifeline was the action. However, that didn't impress me much either. While the forest scene with Nick Nolte’s character was somewhat engaging, the excessive use of digital effects ruined that positive impression, and the over-the-top Hollywood ending just added a figurative cherry on top. Honestly, I don’t think I want to see another installment. I give it 55%. ()
