Spinning Man

Set in a small US town where everyone knows each other, mild-mannered philosophy professor Evan Birch (Guy Pearce) spends his days teaching college students to explore the nature of truth. One afternoon, he's pulled over by the police and questioned about the disappearance of a local high school cheerleader. He denies any involvement but struggles to remember his movements on the day in question where a witness has placed him and his vehicle firmly in the scene of her disappearance. When some strands of the missing girl's hair turn up in his car, the evidence against him starts to build and even his wife and kids begin to have doubts. As the investigating officer Malloy (Pierce Brosnan) closes in, Birch's life implodes. It's not long before he begins to question his own innocence and fear dubious recollections of what really happened on that fateful day. (Lionsgate Home Entertainment)
