English The Perfect Date offers an interesting premise with a dating app, which gets somewhat lost in the execution and turns into a bland affair, but the film is played in such a sweet and relatable way that you can forgive the cliché and let yourself drift for ninety minutes on a cheesy but still believable high school story. Even though I knew from the beginning how it's all going to turn out, I still wasn't bored and I was rooting for the main characters. ()

English Netflix is probably more focused on teen comedies, because it has been offering me more of them lately than I could have imagined. The Perfect Date, however, is really cool. It has a likeable duo, with Noah Centineo showing off his acting skills and Laura Marano her beauty, and for me, that was enough in the context of this viewing. There was laughter here a little extra, even though there wasn't much of it. The likability of the whole film was enough for me to ultimately stay with a solid four-star rating. ()
