It's almost like a classic film noir, where it's about a femme fatale who dramatically changes the life of an ordinary person. But how can a man be ordinary when he has the face of Robert Mitchum? Here and there you will feel that you know the film because it repeats themes from other, older film noir works. Still, it doesn't completely detract from its power.
