English It feels like Sofia Coppola was the first to really flip the 18th and 19th centuries on their head for cinematic effect with Marie Antoinette. But that trick gets old fast when it's repeated too often. In the case of Dickinson, the clash between the past and present is just too jarring for me. I couldn't get past it, and Hailee Steinfeld's portrayal was more annoying than engaging. After the first episode, I called it quits. ()
