English "The secret to success is to start..." (Agatha Christie). "Not for me..." (Captain Suda). A formal experiment where confrontational dialogues occur in a confined setting as a search is underway for a murderer among artistic drunks and intellectual parasites, with motives ranging from classic jealousy to increasing creative capital. The film has a monstrously impressive cast and occasionally loses its tempo. If Inspector Columbo was there, he would thoroughly enjoy it, including the reconstruction. Morally dubious characters are present throughout, but I’m curious if Drápal also wrote himself into the Book of Sins? ()
