Plots(1)
On a Louisiana sugarcane plantation - where racial tension is as hot as a steamy summer afternoon - life changes course when a local white farmer is shot in self-defense by a black man. With no witnesses to the killing and little chance the shooter will be deemed innocent of murder, feisty plantation owner Candy Marshall (Holly Hunter) gathers a group of men to come forward en masse and take responsibility for the killing of a white racist. Led by Mathu (Louis Gossett Jr.), the men defiantly and courageously stand together in the name of equality. (Echo Bridge Entertainment)
