English I didn't expect the plot to correspond so closely with the mandibles in the title; that alone was enough to amuse me. Quentin Dupieux has created another absurd spectacle, which, surprisingly, suited me rather well. I even found the central pair of dumb-asses likeable, brilliantly portrayed by David Marsais and Grégoire Ludig, let alone Dominica the fly. I laughed a few times, even though I kept wondering what kind of sick brain could have come up with this. (70%) ()

English First, you meet one idiot, then another, and then there's a fly locked in a trunk — a fly the size of the trunk itself. And thus begins another story from Mr. Oizo. It's classic Oizo, but in this case, it had me laughing out loud. The absurd humor might not make you laugh the first time, and maybe not even the second, but once you get into it, it's pure gold, much like Wrong Cops. The two main characters play their idiotic roles so convincingly that you'll start to believe they might actually be like that in real life. Their road trip through the French coastal scenery picks up speed and ends in such a brilliantly clever way that you won't want the closing theme to ever end. ()
