It’s not a masterpiece, but I didn’t expect it to be. The new duo, Guillaume Canet and Gilles Lellouche, had the potential to surprise, and they kind of did, but also didn’t. It’s just average. The humor is unique but inoffensive. What bothers me the most is that it’s not based on any comic, and it feels like the French are pandering to China. However, Pierre Richard’s nod to La Chèvre is nice, and Zlatan doesn’t disappoint either.
