English I was annoyed by the divergence from Millar’s comic book in key aspects of the story and the distortion of the ideological ideas presented and basically of the main point. But as an animated film, Red Son is a very clever twist on the Superman myth, with great action and a really dark atmosphere. The best part is his scuffle with Batmankov. ()

English An unusual premise that caught my attention with its uniqueness from the very first minutes. While DC still struggles commercially to reach Marvel’s level (though I don’t agree with that opinion, but the public has spoken), it undeniably dominates in the realm of animated films. Once again, we are treated to solid animation that relies on purposeful simplicity, and it works well. Superman was entertaining, with the scene featuring Stalin at the beginning signaling that this film isn’t going to tread on a wave of childishness. Wonder Woman was a pleasant surprise, and Lex Luthor as the American savior was intriguing. On the other hand, it was disappointing that Batman, as the antagonist, received less screen time; his presence on screen added value, and he deserved more space. The action was decent. The ending didn’t necessarily disappoint, but more could have been made of it (I haven’t read the comic, but plan to do so to see what changes were made in the film adaptation). I give it 72%. ()
