The third film featuring the Creature From the Black Lagoon sees a team of scientist descending on Florida in an attempt to catch the Gilled One. In trying to capture him, they accidentally set him on fire, burning off his gills in the process. In an attempt to save his life, they operate on him and give him the ability to breath air. Now, living as a human, the Creature is unable to return to his natural habitat and experience the anguish of living as a freak and a true fish out of water. (official distributor synopsis)
