Ingeniously dumb and dumbly ingenious - a total parody of a lifestyle, life and everything. Indescribable absurdity multiplied by infinity, which goes all the way ad absurdum. For Christ’s sake, I so want to a man who looks not just good, but really good, like a male model, and I wish I could manage at least Zoolander’s Magnum. I’m not setting my sights on Blue Steel quite yet, but the day will come... Lucky I have this on CD and so can have countless repeat viewings to get Derek’s prize expression down to a T. That's how you find out one day that you don't have a review for Zoolander, even though you love that movie about a totally dumb good guy (who controls so many different perspectives) so much. A very funny and very clever comedy that has no problem switching between crackling humor and moments that I'm not afraid to call poignant and yet still funny, well cast and not giving a damn. Funny shit to turn off your brain! The idea is a great satire and the execution is even better. The demented humor for lobotomies is right up my alley and the result is better than I expected. I would have welcomed a bolder, sillier dose of humour, but I'm still satisfied, and Ben Stiller and Owen Wilson clearly enjoyed their roles to the fullest, and so did I. Satisfying. (01/04/2023)

I just love this comedy. It's so stupid it's great. It's playing on foolishness, yet at the same time, it's an excellent critique of what is actually important in our society. There are absolutely fantastic characters here that will stick in your memory, partly because their portrayals were so committed, and the actors weren't afraid to give it their all. (04/01/2015)

This is definitely one of the craziest and most bullshit films to ever see the light of day. So why the 3 stars? Maybe because of Ben Stiller's absolute parody of himself, which he handles with aplomb? Or perhaps due to the bizarreness of a few scenes? Who knows?! In short, it's bollocks, but not the kind of bollocks like other comedies of its kind, but the kind with that "higher calling". (05/25/2011)
