The life-wise norwegian-american Robert comes back to his home town after many years abroad. He gets a close and confidential relationship to the 36 year old Hildegunn that is married with Tore. Her hot relationship to Robert soon creates reactions in the town, but Hildegunn doesn't see the destructive tention that grows. For the Days Are Evil is a pervasive and intense report about how evil can grow up of a collective narrow-mindednessandjealousy, and destroy marriages, friendships and love. (Norsk Filminstitutt)
