English Sonic the Hedgehog 2 is simply the ultimate cringefest for two hours from top to bottom and bottom to top. Kids will be entertained, adults probably only on the condition that they resign themselves to watching the film with their kids for two hours, otherwise I don't really see why a rational viewer should watch Sonic when one better film after another is being released in contemporary cinema. English I found the second outing of the blue hedgehog comparable in quality to the first one, in fact I could write almost the same thing about the sequel as I did about its predecessor. Sonic the Hedgehog 2 is entertainment with all the trimmings, aimed mainly at a younger audience, yet it manages to appeal to an adult viewer as well. Jim Carrey as Robotnik may have changed his moustache, but his (at times annoying) ticks remain. The alien family has grown to include two more characters (Tails and Knuckles), but they were not as entertaining as Sonic. A good portion of the humour was again provided by Natasha Rothwell as the very bad-ass bride. In the last third, the films winks at the MCU – Magneto and Captain Marvel. The kids in the theater were laughing out loud, I was more just inwardly amused. But I'll gladly go to the next sequel, which the ending this one beckoned. Better three stars! ()

English This is an ideal case of a film where both the kids and the old man, who appreciates the Borat references and actually enjoys the starkly simple model of the theft of all the basic superhero clichés, had a wonderful time. A napkin would really be an unnecessarily generous area for the plot of Sonic 2, but never-mind. Fowler has once again created brisk and edible family entertainment that doesn't run out of steam and even has something of an emotional edge. With the number of video game adaptations, I dare say that both Sonic films are essentially the only ones that hold up completely fine. They don't try to be anything they are not and are as carefree as that blue hedgehog in sneakers. And most importantly they have Jim Carrey, whose performance carries them just fine. ()

English Pretty much the same thing we got from Sonic last time. Still good for me, though. The blue hedgehog is likeable, he's good at action and humour, Jim Carrey is still having fun on screen and the new villain Knuckles is good too. It's a shame the film is a bit too long, which is especially evident in the third quarter, which deals with things that have little to do with Sonic and his adventures. But otherwise it passes pleasantly and neither children nor adults will be bored. ()

English The hit sequel to Sonic is a gaming success both financially and qualitatively. It's hard to think of a more entertaining family filmin recent memory. Jim Carrey is absolutely off the rails here, it's great to see him in a role he's thoroughly enjoying after a long time, and his grimaces, wisecracks, and gags are properly wild again. Sonic is endearing, the one-liners and allusions to various films are a delight, the action is cool, the finale packed with references references to the game is fine, and there's one very unexpected twist. Really great fun for me. 7.5/10. ()
