Janice and Bill Templeton, a happily married couple, the parents of well-adjusted preteen Ivy. Their family security is disrupted by the arrival of a mysterious stranger, Elliot Hoover. At first mistaken for a potential child molester, Hoover explains that his obsessive interest in young Ivy is actually paternal. It is Hoover's contention that their daughter is the reincarnation of his own child, who died in a horrible accident. This information is dismissed out of hand-and then strange things begin happening. (Arrow Films)

The American film Audrey Rose is a successful demonstration of how it is possible to make a horror film that is not primarily a horror film. It's a strong drama, there are strong emotions, and then there's an element that gives it just that extra something, something dark and insidious that seeks to get into your head and unsettle you. Towards the end, you get a resolution that will shake you up, especially from an emotional point of view. ()
