Pachinko

Period drama, which actually probably can't really be faulted at first glance. Solid performances, directorial certainty, occasional good camera idea. However, I started watching the series precisely to learn something about the relationships between Koreans and Japanese. In the end, however, I concluded that it is filmed in such a way that only these two nations would understand it. So I had no choice but to stare and ponder why the plot of this family saga is so terribly complex and complicated. Not finished after five episodes. There wasn't a single positively (or at least interestingly) perceived role that would keep me convinced that there will be a breakthrough. (05/06/2023)
