Biography
Jaime Rosales debuted as a director in 2003 with Las horas del día (2003), winner of the FIPRESCI Prize at the Quinzaine des Réalisateurs in Cannes. Later came La soledad (2007), presented in Un Certain Regard at Cannes and winner of two Best Film Goyas for directing and new actor. With Tiro en la cabeza (Bullet in the Head, 2008) he competed at the San Sebastian Festival, where he received the FIPRESCI Award. He returned to Cannes with Sueño y silencio (2012), presented at the Quinzaine des Réalisateurs, Hermosa juventud (2014), premiered in Un Certain Regard, and Petra (2018), with which he once again participated in the Quinzaine des Réalisateurs.
