Biography

González Penilla is a Mexican director, producer and screenwriter. He studied Communication and Advertising at the University of Tijuana (CUT) and Cinematography at the Centro de Capacitación Cinematográfica (CCC). He worked as an editor on Pablo Delgado Sánchez's debut feature, Las Lágrimas (2012). For his debut film Los Hámsters (2014), he won the award for Best First Film at the 5th International District Film Festival: Cinema and Other Worlds. He earned an Ariel nomination for Best Documentary for his short documentary Conversaciones de un matrimonio (2014). He directed the feature films Leche (2017), Tere (2021) and Amores incompletos (2022).
