The two Witman boys loose their father in sudden death. Their mother is absorbed in her own problems and in trying to prove her being a woman. The teen-age boys live in emotional exile, surrounded with cold. No pattern is there for them to follow. Through torturing animals, they get a taste of the wicked pleasure caused by causing pain. Their barren world rests on laws set by themselves. Lacking a mother, they love an abandoned prostitute. The beautiful, read-haired Irén asks for a present even from them. At night, they try to steal mother's jewels from the glass-case, and when Mrs Witmann is accidentally awakened, they push the dissection-knife in her. Iren's naked back is covered with the jewels as soon as the dawn. (official distributor synopsis)
