Mistaken for a junkie, Brigitte is involuntarily committed to a rehabilitation center. The needle marks and scars along Brigitte's arms are indeed self-inflicted, but not because she's an addict. Brigitte is trying to combat the mutating werewolf cells that are taking over her body, the same kind of cells that transformed and consumed her late sister, Ginger. Haunted by Ginger, Brigitte discovers she is no match for the imminent mutation. A bigger problem, though, is what is trying to get inside the hospital. It is large, it is powerful, it kills and it wants to be with Brigitte. Brigitte knows that if she stays in the hospital many people will die. What she does not know is that another evil has existed there for a very long time. (official distributor synopsis)

English What I wrote about the first one could be applied here: dodgy visual effects vs. great makeup and gloomy music. Unlike a lot of horror sequels, this one doesn't find itself among cinema’s dross, and that's also because the main focus is not on hectolitres of blood being spilled, but also on the psychology of the characters (especially Ghost), and the sanitarium setting is cherry on top. English The Canadian horror movie Ginger Snaps 2: Unleashed was made four years after the first instalment, although I think it built on it quite well. I did not even mind that Katharine Isabelle barely showed up. I quite enjoyed the movie because of Emily Perkins’ performance. Her character is wonderfully disturbed, and the drug setting suited the tone of this movie perfectly and actually enhanced it. ()
