A straightforward action flick that is about nothing more than shooting, kicking, punching, bleeding and dying for an hour and forty minutes, all performed by Jason Statham, Jet Li and dozens of future dead that these two gradually take down. It's not a deep film, it could have been shorter and less would-be surprising, but it's definitely watchable and the action scenes (there are not a lot, but in fact too many) are fine, thanks to the good music of the reliable Brian Tyler. What the hell was that? Boring, almost no action, a twist which I admit had not expected at all, then an action scene which is short and almost criminally unexploited, an unexpected revelation and the end. The presence of two contemporary action icons and the attractive environment of San Francisco simply couldn’t hide the bad screenplay and pitiful direction. And I was sooo looking forward to this. :( ()
I like this movie. It may be a little bit too long, but the combination of Statham and Li is simply excellent. Maybe if there was a little bit more of Jet, it would be even better. The final twist is a bit bizarre, but it has the right B-movie style. There isn't as much action here, but I still formed some kind of connection with the movie. Good entertainment for me. ()
