Plots(1)
Ernest Bliss (Cary Grant) has a name that doesn't quite match his life. Although he is the heir to an incredible fortune, uselessness and boredom have gotten the best of him. Searching to cure his depression, Ernest seeks the help of Sir James Aldroyd (Peter Gawthorne), a doctor. Sir Aldroyd suggests that Ernest work for a living in order to achieve a sense of fulfillment. And to make the young heir more apt to go through with it, he makes a little bet with him - Ernest must work for one year without touching a penny of his soon-to-be fortune. The penalty for losing the wager is a sum of 50,000 pounds to be dealt to the victor. Determined to prove himself, Ernest agrees and sets out to find a job, but when he meets a working class girl and falls in love with her, Bliss's plans swiftly change. But win or lose, Ernest has already found a life of bliss. (Echo Bridge Entertainment)
