English The opening scene promises a competent and mysterious UFO sci-fi flick that would make even Mulder and Scully proud, but that impression begins to fade with the minutes. The ambitions were evidently lacking, the creators were happy enough with reprocessing The X-Files and Fire in the Sky. That could have been fine for some B-movie fun, as there aren’t many similar films, but for that the protagonists shouldn’t be so annoying. Really, those characters seem to be competing at which of them can be the least likeable. The winner, by the way, is the Sheriff’s deputy, who manages it in two scenes. The aliens, in addition, look run-of-the-mill and the climax kills it dead. ()

English One of my most anticipated horror films of the year is out and I'm very pleasantly surprised and glad the trailer didn't lie. From start to finish a dark, heavily atmospheric and ass-clenching alien abduction ride aided by one of the best and scariest soundtracks ever, which by the way also features perhaps the most attractive visuals we've ever seen in a horror film. There is also some quality gore involved, albeit in small amounts, so fans will be pleased. The horror genre was in acute need of such a pleasant revival, and I dare say there hasn't been a better alien horror film in the last 10 years. These aliens command respect! ()

English Extraterrestrial isn't all that much of a horror film, even though it tries a bit to resemble Alien. It never evokes that gothic heaviness, not even for a second. You'll probably be disappointed by the dreadful ending, which might loosely reference Night of the Living Dead. The Vicious Brothers have shown that they may be genre aficionados, but they can only make horror because someone funds them and they know the basic rules. That doesn't change the fact that Extraterrestrial is a film that went beyond the limits of acceptability. ()
