I'll admit, I somehow don't know why you would want to watch this. Maybe just so you can see the whole series. Since you've already seen the previous films, nothing much will surprise you. Some scenes will shock you - after all, death up close, even if recorded, is shocking, terrifying, and unpleasant. This is probably the only aspect that the creators succeeded in. Otherwise, it's indeed a significant weakness, and the controversy itself won't help here.
